Job Summary:

Basemakers is seeking a FULL TIME sales representative for the Sacramento Region area to join our elite, INC 500 team. Our sales representatives are the heartbeat of the organization, so this is a very important role.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, competitive, team-oriented, and teachable. Most importantly, they will operate with the utmost integrity.

Your main responsibility will be to develop relationships with local grocery store managers in efforts to increase the sales velocity of their portfolio in every account. The role will entail visiting approx. 8-10 grocery stores per day, using sales techniques to improve the in-store presence of each of those brands.

Territory Covered: Sacramento

Key Role and Responsibilities:

This is an independent role that is highly collaborative with not only store managers, but also Brand Partner Managers, Area Managers and Directors. The sales representative is responsible for all in store presence for our brands. In your day to day you will:

- Develop and maintain an organized list of key accounts based on portfolio needs in the respective territory. 

- Spend 100% of the time in the field, merchandising and selling at accounts for our brand portfolio

- Prepare for retail sales calls by gathering relevant store, product, and market data to create effective selling presentations for key decision makers

- Utilize analytical data to drive sales at store level

- Innovation and creativity in approaching accounts and expanding business

- Improve the in-store presence of our portfolio by way of:

  • Secondary/Tertiary placements
  • Off-shelf placements
  • Gaining new points of distribution in store 

- Educate store managers on proper and effective merchandising and selling points: 

  • Proper shelf management positions
  • Rack, equipment, and POS placements

Job Requirements:

- Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)

- Creative presentation/public speaking

- Strong problem solving, analytic, influencing, and negotiation skills

- Premium selling skills are preferred (if no sales experience, must be open to feedback and willingness to learn)

- Utmost passion to sell/represent our Brand Partners

- Ability to formulate account strategies and execute against them

- Track record of success in a highly self-directed environment 

- Maintain a high level of communication across the team

- Achieve monthly key performance indicators (KPI’s) set by Regional Sales Manager

- Professional demeanor in working with coworkers, distributors, retail reps and consumers

- Must have valid driver's license and own vehicle to travel and transport promotional merchandise and minimal product quantities between accounts within assigned territory

- Must have a clean driving record, registration, and insurance.
